Do you want to improve your life and success? One place to start is with your health. I am a firm believer that your health plays a huge part in your success. If you are unhealthy, how can you possibly succeed? You won’t have the energy you need to get what needs to be done, finished. You may be focused on other health issues rather than your goals. You won’t have as much determination and discipline to seek your wants and desires. You might get sick more often and have to take time away from your goals to get well. Healthy and fit people are seen as confident, determined and capable. Hate to say it but people that are unhealthy and overweight get treated far differently than those that are fit. Those that are fit are respected much more. When you are healthy you feel better, look better, can think faster and handle stress much better than when you aren’t. Your confidence level will soar. One trait of every successful person I know is that they are immensely confident in themselves. You cannot have true abundance in ANY area of your life without first feeling immensely confident in yourself. The main determining factor in your confidence is how you feel about your body. If you look at high achievers they all are immensely confident in themselves. A lot of this confidence comes with being happy with their bodies. You cannot have a healthy mind without a healthy body.

You can’t change the fact that others will treat and listen to people that are healthy more so than those that are unhealthy and unfit. What you can change is you. When you get in shape, your whole appearance changes. Your confidence level rises, you appear to have much more authority than before. You’ll have more energy to get things done. You’ll stay more motivated and disciplined in other areas of your life as well. All around your whole dynamic changes. If you want success, take the step to improve your health. You’ll be amazed at what it will do for all areas of your life. One way I have found you can easily do this is with the Body By Vi Challenge. It’s a fun 90 day health challenge to improve your health, lose weight and feel great. Most achievers don’t have the time to do crazy workouts, or make all their meals at home. They simply don’t have the time. Most people don’t want to lose weight by drinking crazy green substances that you have to hold your nose just to get down. Achievers need something quick and simple that tastes great. For me, Body By Vi was a great solution. I don’t have to count carbs or eat meals that taste like cardboard. I simply replace a meal a day with a shake. Simple. Easy. Fun. Tastes awesome. You can find out more about it at www.upforchallenge.net. Your health is your greatest asset. Without it, how can you possibly succeed? However you decide to get healthy, make the investment in yourself. Your success will thank you.

There Is No Easy Button

It seems a lot of people are looking for the easy button for their lives. They want to hit a button and have their lives instantly fulfilled overnight. I hate to break it to you but there is no easy button to achieve greatness in anything. To get where you want to go it’s going to take work. Serious hard work. I think Americans see musicians and actors all of the sudden pop up out of nowhere and become famous and wealthy. They think that it can be done instantly. What we don’t see is the years of hard work that got them to that tipping point that they broke over. All achievers put in hard work into getting there. There was some magical chant or potion that made them that way, they simply put in the time to get where they wanted to go.

Dan Kennedy has a great quote: “I’m an overnight success after 20 years.”

If it took you 5 years to achieve all of your dreams would it be worth it to dedicate that time? Of course! There is another saying I live by: “I will dedicate the next few years of my life towards achieving my goals so that while others have to work to survive, if I choose to I can be permanently lazy.” If you want to be successful in anything, put in the time. Make the dedication. As with most things in life, you get what you put in. Put in the work and time, you’ll get there. Don’t put in the time, you won’t get much in return.

Are You Working For Broke?

http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/digg_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/reddit_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/stumbleupon_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/delicious_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/technorati_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/facebook_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/yahoobuzz_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/twitter_48.png

200383283-001I know a person that wants to succeed. Well they say they do anyway, but I think otherwise. I feel this way because they are working for broke. What do I mean? That their lifestyle habits, thoughts and choices are all engrossed with poverty thinking and are dispelling potential success. It’s as if everything about them does the exact opposite of what they say they “want.” Do they really want success or are they working for broke?

I want to show you two examples:

Today I was shopping at Kroger and noticed a woman. She had the most intricate coupon system I have ever seen. She had folders packed with coupons all labeled and color coded by departments. I wish I could have gotten a picture to show you what I mean, it was pure nuts. I ended up behind her at the checkout and it took 20 minutes just to ring her up with all these coupons. They had to call the manager to do an override, check all the expiration dates and look up prices. I asked her how long it took her to find all of those deals. She told me she spent all morning going through papers and direct mailers finding them. ALL MORNING. I am not saying coupons are a bad thing at all, don’t get me wrong here. I am in full support of coupons (heck in my advertising for clients I use them all the time!), but this obviously took this woman hours to do. Hours she could be spending elsewhere.

3065194050_41ee69f153Heres another: This past Friday was black Friday. Tons of crazy deals at stores all over if you are an early riser willing to take on crowds. I drove by Best Buy and saw people camping outside just to get special deals. I’m a curious person, so I pulled up in front and asked them what they were waiting on. Their answer: to get a hundred bucks off a TV. Literally camping the night before just to be the first in line to get a deal for a hundred bucks. Wow.

Most people if you ask them if they want success will tell you that they do. The real down and dirty truth is that they are lying to themselves. They won’t do what it takes and they spend so much time working to be broke that they will never get what they want. Imagine for a minute if instead of camping out this person dedicated that time to bettering themselves? Maybe learn a new skill that they could market? Perhaps instead of spending four hours cutting coupons they could research that business they always wanted to start.

I’m not sure the exact quote, but I heard something like this from a famous golfer once:

Everyone wants to play like me… everyone wants to hit the ball like me…. everyone wants to swing like me… everyone wants to putt like me…. everyone wants to win like me. All I can say is: NO YOU DON’T, NO YOU DON’T, NO YOU DON’T, NO YOU DON’T because the truth is… if you wanted to play like me – you would be up at dawn and going home after dark with bloody hands covered in bandages to stop the blisters from bleeding… you would have pain in your back from swinging all day long. You dont’ want what I have or be what I am… it takes sacrifice, dedication and hard work…. YOU REALLY DON’T want to be me…

I love this quote. The truth is that many of us out there spend so much time working for broke that they spend no time at all on what can really can get them closer to success. Imagine just how hard you really have to work at being broke. The time it takes to cut out all those coupons. The pain and embarrassment of having to get money from others just to pay the bills or to eat. Not being able to have the finer things in life. The constant stress from looming bills and expenses. Imagine just how much easier life could be. Ask yourself do you really truly want success and are you really willing to work for it? Or is your lifestyle set to be broke?

ross-giantmanDenial of yourself is one of the saddest tragedies of our world today. We have millions of people out there that are holding themselves back by denying their extraordinary ability to accomplish something.

They deny who they are.
They deny who they could become.
They deny their future success.

Right now, there is someone somewhere holding a new invention, a new symphony, a new cure, a new book or a new business idea inside themselves that could revolutionize their industry. We have assistants that should be running companies. There are back up singers that should taking the front stage. However, their self doubt has held them back. They sabotage their success with internal statements like: “I couldn’t do that. I don’t have the education.” Or “I’m not good enough. There are thousands better than me.”

They have denied their inner giant. They have denied their ability. They have told themselves that success is for other people and not them.

You have untold talent right before you. It’s lingering inside of you. Right within your grasp. If you continue to think small, you will remain small. You are capable of doing great things. You have talent inside of you waiting to burst out and carry yourself into greatness. I truly believe that you can do something incredible, if you dedicate yourself to your success. Stop holding yourself back. Stop limiting your own supply.

You have the talent.
You have the knowledge.
You have the ability.

SO USE IT.

Are you denying your inner giant?

horseracingToday marks opening day for Keeneland here in Lexington, KY. Time for people from all over to put on their best, grab drinks with friends and bet on race horses. It’s a blast.

It has always been interesting to me that a racehorse that runs a second faster than another horse can be worth millions more. 1 measly second can be the difference between millions and a few thousand. In business it can often work the same way. When you go the extra mile to better yourself or your business, it can make worlds of difference to your customers or towards your success. Be willing to dedicate yourself to push forward even if it is a small degree in order to become better. It can mean the difference between success and failure. What is something you can you do right now to go the extra mile?

Success does not wait. If I delay, she will become betrothed to another and lost to me forever. This is the time. This is the place and I am the man. –Og Mandino.

Steam_LocomotiveA train is strong on a railroad but If you took it off it’s tracks it would be weak and not get very far. Entrepreneurs are often like trains. You may be strong in one area, like the train when its on the tracks, but not in others. Perhaps you are creative in business ideas but terrible at organization. It’s okay. There is nothing wrong with it. No one is incredible at everything. Entrepreneurs often make the mistake of trying to do and be good at everything themselves. Often it ends up creating a situation where you can’t accomplish your goals. Learn to surround yourself with a great team that can handle the stuff you aren’t as good at. You can build up faster by focusing your talents on where they excel, rather than where there are weak.

Emerald_City_3Just read this:

The journey we are taking is hardly the yellow brick road. We may set out in the light with hope and joy but eventually our path always seems to lead us to the woods, shrouded with a low lying mist. –John Eldredge

This got me thinking about business and life. There isn’t an exact yellow brick road to follow. Every business is different and will face their own set of problems. Business is full of ups and downs and twists and turns. There is no exact path that if you follow you will get you to emerald city.

Sometimes you have go out into the woods deep into the unknown laced with fog only able to see a few feet in front of you. The good news is that when you are in the unknown usually you can see far enough in front of you to keep moving forward and eventually the fog will clear.

Are You Limiting Your Supply?

http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/digg_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/reddit_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/stumbleupon_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/delicious_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/technorati_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/facebook_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/yahoobuzz_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/twitter_48.png

kinked-hoseThe other day I spoke with a friend who was having a hard time financially. This person, was working himself to death and never seemed to improve his situation. He would work harder and harder only to see his finances get smaller everyday. He was complaining to me how much he hated being poor.

So I asked him what he was doing to improve his finances. He gave me excuse after excuse. Saying how it just wasn’t in the cards for him. His boss was a jerk. He didn’t have money, energy or time to change anything. He blamed his situation on everything but the one root cause: HIMSELF.

There are millions of people like him in this world. They go around thinking that the only thing for them is hard work and more poverty. The truth is that these same people are carrying within them untold fortunes of wealth that is beyond their wildest dreams. Their thinking has shut them off to this abundant supply and it gets buried deep within them never to be explored. If you constantly think you will be poor all of your life, you will be. Wealth cannot come to a person who doesn’t search for it or who thinks they cannot have it. It reminds me of a man who steps on the hose while watering his garden without realizing it. Water was readily available to him but only one thing was at fault, the man himself was pinching the hose and limiting the water flow.

You are your limitations. Your life is the excuses you allow yourself to believe. Like attracts like. If you believe you will be poor you will be. If you believe you will be rich you will find a way to get there.

Are you limiting your own supply?

What Do You See? Manure Or Gold?

http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/digg_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/reddit_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/stumbleupon_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/delicious_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/technorati_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/facebook_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/yahoobuzz_48.png http://davidbustle.com/wp-content/plugins/sociofluid/images/twitter_48.png

free-manure-sign If you were driving along and saw this sign what would you think? A pile of manure or gold? It’s all in the eye of the beholder. Are you the kind of person that sees something like this and thinks… huh… I wonder what I could create from that?

Once there was a guy who did stop and saw gold. He asked around and ended up meeting a contractor that wasn’t going to use a plot of dirt and manure. He negotiated a deal for hauling it away for free for the contractor. The guy then turned around and sold it for $25,000! He made a chunk of money off manure! Something that most people would never think anything of. He kept his eyes open for opportunity. Are you keeping a watch out for opportunity? Or are you caught up and shutting it out?

The truth is that we see signs like this everyday. Opportunities are all around us. They are there staring us in the face. They just aren’t so bold most of the time. How many opportunities have you passed up? How many decisions could you have made to truly build something great? Start looking at things from different angles you never know when an opportunity could lead to something huge for you and your life.

Opportunities? They are all around us… There is power lying latent everywhere waiting for the observant eye to discover it. – Orison Swett Marden

The reason a lot of people do not recognize opportunity is because it usually goes around wearing overalls looking like hard work. -Thomas A. Edison
