A lot of people are pretty big fans of this new show FlashForward.
If you haven’t seen it, FlashForward it is a TV show where everyone on the planet loses consciousness during some strange mysterious event for 2 minutes and 17 seconds (Check out the trailer for it here). During this they all have a vision of their lives six months in the future. Some see themselves with romantic relationships with people they have never met. Some see visions of their death. Some of them even try to change what they see in their vision. It’s a pretty interesting concept.
I’m sure all of us wish we could have a FlashForword and see where we are going to be in six months. It could be pretty interesting to see our futures. Although seeing our futures might be impossible now, it is possible to look at our past and see how that has lead us to where we are now.
Instead of having a flash forward let’s have a flash backward.
Are you happy where you are right now?
What has lead you to this point?
How did you get here?
Where did you invest your time?
What were the outcomes?
Ask yourself these questions and look at the root cause for where you are today. We humans have an incredible ability, one that no other creature on the planet has. We have the ability to change where we are headed. I don’t care where you are right now, you can change and move forward. You have the strongest weapon of all: yourself. If you have the determination and commitment you can accomplish what you set out to. If you commit, the world will make way for you. Nothing can stop the man who is determined.
The blowing winds are but our servants when we hoist a sail.
