Well all I can say is that perhaps I misspoke on my most RECENT rant about (sorry to say) your generation. It is no secret that I have GRAVE misgivings about many of "the Millennials."

I'm guessing that you fall into that generational bucket...at least by age.

But what I found INCREDIBLY inspiring (sorry for so many all caps!), was that it syncs perfectly with those thoughts and inspirations I have always used throughout my own professional and personal development. And that's ongoing, by the way.

Spent last week speaking and emceeing the Mirren New Business Conference in New York City, for example, and pretty much laid into many of the 400+ attendees about what they're doing right, wrong, "not so much," etc. Well, Mr. Know-it-All here got a little reminder of my own in the form of (get this!) a horoscope in the New York Post. (I'm no big horoscope or astrology buff, but have gotten pretty eyeball popping ones from this one before, Sally Brompton.) Bottom line is that you take your messages where you get them.

Say, for example, the blog of a stranger who just began following your Tweets. (Exhibit A: your terrific blog from April 8, 2010 "Living an Unfulfilled Life."

Add one horoscope (interestingly, from April 9) which would be Exhibit B and it read:

Wednesday, April 7, 2010 – Taurus: "You like to know what makes people tick, but the important question now is what motivates you. What is the one thing that would give your life new meaning and direction? Think about it – then make it happen."

Guess she told me! And your very inspiring blog served to beautifully reinforce that important thought that I TRY to live every day. Your writing also reminded me (quite importantly) how inappropriate it is to tar every member of a generation with the qualities exhibited by a few.

Good luck to you, David. I look more to your future thoughts...

Hey Dave,

Just wanted to let you know I was very inspired by your story. I respect men and women that choose to observe the crowd and do the opposite.

All the best,
Abraham
